Generally

We only collect personal information that is relevant to the purpose of our website. This information allows us to provide you with a customized and efficient experience. We do not process this information in a way that is incompatible with this objective.

Information You Provide. Any information that you voluntarily disclose in an article(post) submission, or in comments becomes publicly available and can be viewed by other readers of the blog. You are required to register in order to submit content, and some registration information you provide, such as a website or email address, will be attached to your contributions (blog post or comment when you post substantive content to the site. Additionally, we receive and store all information you enter on our blog site or provide to us in any other way. We will not place your email address on a mailing list or use your email for any purposes not discussed in this Privacy Policy without your consent.

Information Automatically Collected. Our web server software will collect your IP address and may store this information for some time. We do not routinely examine this data, although we reserve the right to do so to troubleshoot problems on the site. You should be aware, however, that the length of time this data is kept is dictated by our Internet Service Provider’s policies, not by us. We also collect and store information that is generated automatically as you navigate through the blog site. For example, to allow the site to recognize you once you have logged in, we use a standard feature found in WordPress software called a “cookie.” Most web browsers enable cookies by default. You may disable your web browser’s cookie feature without losing the ability to access the .Tech.Law.Babble blog content. However, if a login is required to access certain data, the blog site will not remember you when you leave the site and you will need to log in each time if you wish to access any features that require a log-in. This will not be an issue for simple viewing of the blog.

Google Analytics. .Tech.Law.Babble blog site uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help us analyze how visitors use the our site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this blog site (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of this blog site, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website activity and Internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Google’s current policy can be found here, and is that it will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. However please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of the blog site, but this should not restrict simple viewing of the blog. By using this  blog site, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help our spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

In addition to the information on cookies described above in the section titled, Generally, please understand the following: If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day. Contact us via the Contact Us page or at admin@techlawbabble.com if you wish to publish an article/post on the site.

Embedded Content From Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Children Under 18 Years of Age

Our blog is not intended for children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect or maintain any personal information from anyone under the age of 18. No part of our blog, software or service is directed to children under the age of 18. We will close any accounts used exclusively by such children and will remove and/or delete any personal information we believe was submitted by any child under the age of 18. If you believe .Tech.Law.Babble has inadvertently collected personal information from a child under the age of 18, we request that you immediately contact us so that we may remove such information. Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell your data. We will not share your data, other than as described below, with any person or entity other than our staff for the sole purpose of operating this blog.

Disclosures Required by Law. We may be obligated to disclose information about you to a governmental or law enforcement agency, or by a court order, or under the discovery process in litigation, investigations, and prosecutions. We may disclose personal information under a good faith belief that disclosure is otherwise necessary or required by law.

Third-Party Vendors. We may share your data with third-party vendors for the sole purpose of assisting us with the administration of this site, as described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy.

NOTE: This blog site may include links to other websites which we do not control. .Tech.Law.Babble is not responsible for the privacy policies of those external websites.

How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if, and when, that feature becomes available and is active), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Sensitive Informaiton

We ask that you not send us, and you not disclose in any article(post) or comment, any sensitive information (e.g., Social Security numbers, credit card or other payment card information, information related to racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religion or other beliefs, health, criminal background or trade union membership), or other information you consider to be confidential, on or through the blog site or otherwise to us.

Effective Date

This Privacy Policy is Effective as of February 1, 2025. .Tech.Law.Babble reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will become effective when we post the revised Privacy Policy on this website. By accessing or using this blog site following any such changes, you signify you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
